Quitman meets the recreation needs of residents and vistiors alike. Two beautiful parks provide natural beauty, nature trails, swimming, water skiing, fishing, and disk golf and both camper and cabin facilities. Archusa Water Park with its 440-acre lake it situated within the city limits of Quitman. Clarkco State Park is located on Highway 45, approximately 5 miles north of Quitman.

Organized sports provide yearly activity and entertainment for participants and spectators. Lighted tennis courts and baseball facilities as well as daytime only recreational areas are available. A country club provides excellent recreation, offering, a nine-hole golf course, swimming pool and tennis courts. The golf course is referred to as the "Hidden Jewel" and is rated fifth in the state.

For those who enjoy fishing, floating or just being on the river, Quitman provides that also. The beautiful Chickasawhay River meanders through the county from Enterprise in the north through Shubuta in the south. A number of boat ramps are provided along the river for public convenience.

Hunting is one of the main sports of the area and for good reason. Deer, rabbit, dove and turkey abound. Hunting clubs and individuals are always looking for another sports-minded enthusiast.
